Fatigue, foggy thinking, hair problems and Natural Progesterone

Question:

Hi. I’m in my early 20s, I’m female,  and I am thinking of using natural progesterone cream to improve my health condition. I have experienced excessive fatigue, foggy thinking, hair loss/ thinning, a bit of excessive facial hair grow and dry skin.  My main concerns are the fatigue and fogggy thinking( I have been out of college due to them) and the facial hair grow and dry skin.  I was a very healthy person some years ago, and all these symptoms are increasing  since then ( albeit slowly), but they are increasing. I did some research on natural progesterone on the net, and based on what I found, I think it could help me a lot. But yet I would like to know if any of you experienced the same symptoms that I’m experiencing and could ease them successfully using natural progesterone.  Thanks a lot. Katharine Simoes

Katharine, your symptoms are classic for  hypothyroidism.  Here is a website to check out thyroid disease, symptoms, treatment etc. http://www.endocrineweb.com   At the very least you would need blood testing for TSH, T4, free T4, T3, free T3 and antibodies.  I have been hypothyroid for 10 years. I also use progesterone cream for menopausal symptoms.  May I suggest an excellent book for information on progesterone deficiency/estrogen dominance (don’t be put off by the word ‘menopause’ in the title). "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause" by John R. Lee, M.D.  Dr. Lee talks about progesterone deficiency occurring up to 15 years prior to menopause.  You will learn about estrogen dominance which has its own set of symptoms, as well as progesterone deficiency. Joan McPhee – not an M.D.

If I were you I would write down all your symptoms and take them to your doctor.  The chances are good that he will do blood tests If you have a high white count it could be the sign of an infection.   Just Curious How is your digestive health??? you could have a bacterial stomach bug.  I had one and the fatigue  kept getting worse and worse. Good luck Good Luck << Hi. I’m in my early 20s, I’m female,  and I am thinking of using natural progesterone cream to improve my health condition.     Sounds to me like it is classic Vitamin E overdose: crashing fatigue, hairloss, stomach cramps, bad taste in mouth, clotting problems and liver dysfunction. Always eliminate Vit E supplements if any of these problems show up.   Save your money on the "natural" progesterone creme. It is worthless ….and expensive and the saliva tests it requires at $140 a pop are really a waste of time. Put your money in a retirement account, not transfer it for some quack product. You future health will be far better served by keeping your $35 a month (just for a start with this stuff as they keep adding all sorts of other nonsense and expensive add ons, to make it "work" better) and not sending it to some total stranger dangling false promises your way.  This stuff is being way oversold, on almost zero duplicable science. It is the modern equivalent of snake oil, that is all. cass – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> Katharine, your symptoms are classic for  hypothyroidism.  Here is a website to > check out thyroid disease, symptoms, treatment etc. > http://www.endocrineweb.com   At the very least you would need blood testing for > TSH, T4, free T4, T3, free T3 and antibodies.  I have been hypothyroid for 10 > years. > I also use progesterone cream for menopausal symptoms.  May I suggest an > excellent book for information on progesterone deficiency/estrogen dominance > (don’t be put off by the word ‘menopause’ in the title).    The only known and consistenly proven benefit for NP creme is to line the pockets of the scam artists who sell it. Get real and do your homework better on this topic. See if you can find a non-commercial website anywhere on the internet that has anything credible to say about this babyboomer targeted yam/scam. Create your own placebo, don’t finance someone else’s retirement account by buying theirs.   If you really believe that some total strangers "personal anecdote" balances scientific investigation found in the British Medical Journal on this product, then by all means you deserve to improvish your pocketbook as much as you have improvished your minds. cass the right – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> conditions.  From my research (& the help that it has given several of our friends), your > symptoms don’t seem to be appropriate for this product.  (just to put the record into some > balance in regard to what cassandra wrote). > regards… > |> > |> > Hi. Hi, Katharine, I do know of a natural hormone balancer that is a combination of Diosorea and glyonutritionals which improve absorption and  assimilation.  The company that sell this is called Mannatech and the product is Plus.  You have to go thro an associate to purchase it.  If I can help let me know. Good Luck
